Robots That Vacuum and Mop

Robots that clean and vacuum offer the convenience of cleaning dry debris and wet messes in one session, without having to switch between devices. They can also save space compared to two separate units, particularly in smaller living spaces.

A good combination bot will have excellent navigation and obstacles avoidance. Look for models with docks that let them automatically empty their bins, refill their water tanks, and wash the mopping pads.

1. Eufy S1 Pro

It has a lot to offer for its modest price, and it's one of the easiest robots we've tested to install. Unpacking is simple, and the quick-start guide gets you running in no time with the complete dust bag, water tank, and a hard floor.

The S1 Pro is an incredibly powerful machine that can vacuum and mop well. The mops are spun at a high rate and employ 2.2 pounds (1kg of force) to get rid of pet hair, dirt and sticky dried spills. The vacuum cleaner has four power settings, a range of attachments and brushes and an intuitive app that lets you choose the kind of cleaning you'd like for each room.

You could, for instance ask the robot to clean the kitchen and living room thoroughly but leave the bedroom in its own space. The S1 Pro has excellent front collision sensors as well as smart navigation technology. It is able to detect small obstacles that other models can't. The only problem is that the robot tends to crash into objects and walls at full speed. However looking at the cleaning history on the app will show you exactly what the robot has completed, where it's going, and which obstacles it has stumbled upon or avoided.

A convenient LCD screen on the docking station informs the maintenance tasks that are required including emptying the debris tray, and rinsing its dirty water tank. It can also mix detergent automatically into the water tank using a 600ml bottle of Eufy's own solution.

Both the S1 Pro mop and vacuum have a long running time. The mop can run for 184 mins in Quiet Mode, and the vacuum can last for 136 minutes in normal mode, before having to recharge or returning to the base. You can view the full cleaning details in the app, which is well laid out and is easy to comprehend although we would like to be able distinguish between a vacuum and a vacuum/mop clean when looking at a cleaned area in the history of cleaning.

2. Roborock S8 Pro Ultra

The Roborock S8 Pro Ultra is the latest version of the company's most popular robot vacuum and mop. The model this year has two agitators built into its mopping pad. This enhances the cleaning capabilities of carpets with this model. The S8 Pro Ultra has an improved suction capacity which allows it to pull up smaller hairs as well as other debris other robotic cleaners could miss.

This Roborock model, just like the other two I tested is equipped with infrared and 3D obstacle avoidance technology to help it overcome obstacles like furniture, walls and other obstacles. However, the S8 Pro Ultra takes things a step further by incorporating a dual camera that can recognize objects and determine whether they are a wall or another surface. It can then change its direction automatically and clean the objects, without missing a step.

It's the most expensive of the three models I've examined, but it's also loaded with features. Its sleek angular design is eye catching and only has three physical buttons. The power button, which also restarts the cleaning mop function, a button for cleaning that doubles as a child lock, and a home-button to bring the robot to its dock. The hinged lid opens to reveal a 350ml dustbin and 200ml of water tank. The water tank will empty itself, and the bin is auto-filling.

The only issue I encountered in this model was the VibraRise mop pads mount isn't removable. Although you can change the mopping cloth (if needed) however, it's a hassle to take off the mount itself to wash it manually. I've found that any plush carpet the robot crosses will be in contact with the Velcro-like fastener system on the mount, and that can cause abrasions.

The S8 Pro Ultra has a number of smart capabilities, including support for Google Home, Amazon Alexa and Siri. You can manage and set up these using the Roborock app which is also home to its maps and advanced mopping settings. The app allows you to schedule cleanings and monitor the battery's life. But you'll need to jump through a few hoops to allow voice control with this model which is a pity considering the performance of this model.

3. Dreame X40

The Dreame X40 is an industry-leading robot vacuum and mop with exceptional suction power, advanced mowing capabilities, and ingenuity features. Its innovative design lets you to customize and efficiently clean while reducing time.

The X40 robot vacuum cleaner is the first to offer 12,000 Pascals cleaning power. It is one of the most powerful choices available. This powerful vacuum can clear up pet hair as well as crumbs and other dry messes. It also comes with a top-quality mop that leaves floors spotlessly clean, even without a wet pad. In  robot vacuum cleaner best  is quiet in it's operation, producing only occasional bursts of noise when switching modes or completing self-maintenance tasks.

The X40 also has a side brush that can be lifted and extended. This lets it reach into corners that are difficult to reach and clean curved furniture like table and chair legs. It also lets the robot to get under low-profile furniture making it an ideal option for smaller apartments and condos with limited space. The side brush also automatically swivels downwards when it detects wet spots, which is a nice touch that helps the X40 to avoid causing damage to floors by repeated back-andforth movements.

Unlike some other robots that only focus on one thing, the X40 is capable of performing both vacuuming and mopping at the same time or individually. It can be programmed to mop only the hard floors and skip carpeted areas, or reverse the process. It can be controlled via the Dreame app or via Alexa, Siri, and Google Home for smooth voice-controlled operation.

The app is simple to use and understand The X40 has many smart features that are easy to set up. Users can program the X40 for cleaning at specific times. It can also be adjusted to adjust suction power, change modes, view floor plans and maps, and manage mopping settings. The X40 can also monitor its progress and notify you when it's done.

The X40 is easy to clean and has many convenient features, making it a great option for busy families. The docking station automatically empty the trash bin into a 3.2 L bin, cleans mop pads and refills them with fresh water and cleaning solution. It also can detect whether the mop pad has reached its capacity to the max and notify you of the situation before it overflows.

4. L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a high-end robot that's one of the most expensive available, but it packs in numerous additional features that make it stand out. Smart DuoScrub, which is a new feature on its mops, uses two mop heads that are high-speed to scrub floors more thoroughly. It also has a suction force of 7,000Pa. This is higher than the Roborock S8 Pro Ultra and Ecovacs Deebots T20 Omni. It can also clean pet hair, dirt particles and remove spills and dirt-stained spots.

The mop is cleaned and dried at the base station each time they are used. This is a great feature because it prevents mould and unpleasant odours from accumulating in storage. It also makes the mop system more efficient. This is a feature has yet to be seen on other robot vacuum and mop models, and it could be a useful method of keeping your home cleaner for longer.

There are many choices, including the possibility to schedule cleanings and change preferences. The app lets you make these settings or you can make use of the buttons on the device itself. The app is simple to use and provides a variety of options to customize the cleaning process, and there are many features that other robots don't include, for instance, the Clean Genius mode that automatically increases suction power when it detects dust particles rather than using an individual setting.

The L20 Ultra is also one of the most fashionable robots we've seen in the market, sporting metallic and white design that looks classy and sophisticated. It's a bit heavier than the other two-in-one robots on this list, at 4kg - but it's not obscenely heavy, and feels sturdy and well-built. The mopping is also well-designed, and the double rotating mop works well on hard floors and in corners. They can also extend up to 2mm of baseboards thanks to the MopExtend feature which is a nice touch.
